Does The Secret Blog Writing Method Actually Work?
Lets start with a short summary of my Blog post writing method as follows.
* Blog Headline
* Introduction
* Blog Post Body
* Summary
The headline of a Blog post is the most important part. A reader makes up their mind in seconds whether they are going to stay or leave a Blog. A headline needs to grab the reader and stimulate their interest to want to read more. It has to be honest yet made to catch attention at the same time. A good headline can determine if a Blog is going to be read or not.
Putting some effort into a Blog headline pays off. Studies show that within a few seconds a reader decides whether he is going to stay on the page or click away. Writing a good Blog headline helps ensure the rest of the Blog is read.
The introduction uses many keywords used in the headline. The introduction tells the reader what they can expect in the rest of the post. It is meant to be like a warm greeting from a friend. Short, nice, and not too long.
The Blog post body is where all the action happens. Good solid content is offered here to make sure the reader “sticks” around. For example solve a problem, give a tip or two, or blog about something your readership likes. One method I like to use is the state the problem, give the solution method. It goes like this.
* State problem
* Discuss the problem
* Give solution to the problem
The body of an article is informative, contains facts and figures, supports the Blog headline , and gives the reader a satisfying feeling their time is well invested in the reading the Blog post.
A Blog post summary restates what you already said throughout the Blog. Don’t introduce new material here. Use this section to make a summary of the main points in the Blog.
So there are my secret Blog writing tips in a nutshell. Oh, one more thing , I ask myself when writing a Blog post a very specific question. It is this. “Will this Blog post in some way contribute to the readers understanding of the subject I am blogging about? If the answer is yes, I click publish, and its out there in the blogosphere for all to see.
Home Writing Career
There are many employers of varying sorts. You can go freelance and find individual assignments, or you can find someone who needs your writing skills regularly. There are advantages to each option, and it can very much so be a matter of personal preference. Publishing your own work has become incredibly easy. Many people earn a living writing for their own website, whether in blog form or otherwise. The earning potential varies tremendously, depending on topic and your own skill at monetizing a website. But with the right software you don't have to be a great website designer or constantly pay someone to maintain your site for you. All you need is to get set up and go.
There are also many opportunities in writing for others. Many website owners would sooner pay someone else to do their writing, whether it be writing articles for their site or sales copy for their product. You bring the skills; they tell you what is needed. It's easy to work for low pay online. There's a lot of competition out there, and many writers willing to work for a pittance. It can be hard to get serious pay as a writer, but it is not impossible. Show your quality and know that you are worth it. If you're helping people earn a better living, they will know when you're the writer they need to keep using. In many cases, having your own website is strongly recommended.
It's a way to show off your work and attract clients if you're freelancing. A good website is a major part of your presence on the web. Even if you don't expect to do a lot of marketing online, listing a website on your business card is just one more sign of being serious and professional. There have rarely been more possibilities for earning a living as a writer. Not all writers will succeed, and not all styles of writing will appeal to people online. But if you can adapt you will give yourself more chances to build a viable business as a writer.
Benefits of Article Writing: Foundations Of A Home-Based Business
Anyone can learn to write saleable material on just about any subject, providing the person has personal knowledge of the subject matter or knows how to thoroughly research the subject, or both. The list of topics you may be required to write about is endless. Producing your articles is very easy and simple, but it may take longer and require more research for some individuals to produce a completed, saleable product than it will take others. A good command of the proper use of words and a basic knowledge of punctuation and grammar is a must.
Your written material should sound as if you are talking to someone in person. Keep in mind that you must convey your message, instructions or meanings through your writing, because the reader cannot see your facial expressions, your body language or hear the tone of your voice. This is why it is so important to use proper grammar and punctuation. Write your articles in a clear, factual, concise style. Keep in mind the type of audience you are writing for and confine your writing to words the reader will relate to and understand.
Enrich your punctuation and improve your writing
We enrich our punctuation the same way we improve our writing. The above paragraph is the first version of a rough draft. Let's edit it and see how we can improve the punctuation.
The art of writing demands writers master many different skills including editing, correcting grammar, and enriching punctuation. Punctuation may be the least respected skill. Were Rodney Dangerfield to write of punctuation, he might say: "Punctuation is like me. It don't get no respect." Punctuation goes beyond punctuation marks; anything in written language outside of letters and numbers is punctuation.
Punctuation marks, spaces between words, and indentation are all punctuation. Wikipedia defines punctuation: "Punctuation marks are symbols that correspond to neither phonemes (sounds) of a language nor to lexemes (words and phrases), but which serve to indicate the structure and organization of writing, as well as intonation and pauses to be observed when reading it aloud."
Let's look at two differences between the first and second versions.
1. The number of paragraphs
The first version had one long paragraph, which became two paragraphs in the second version. Paragraphing is part of punctuation. A paragraph can be as short as one sentence or as long as several pages. A one-sentence paragraph, however, is unusual outside dialogue. Longer paragraphs are hard on readers. Breaking a long paragraph into two or more smaller paragraphs makes reading easier.
2. Variety in punctuation marks
The first version used only periods and commas; the second version added colons and semicolons. Punctuational variety enriches the writing. Many people use an extremely limited repertoire of punctuation marks: periods and commas. Use variety in punctuation marks to differentiate your writing from everyday writing without this rich variety.
We would also like to show additional ways to use punctuation:
1. Colons can emphasize contrast.
We waited all day for Godot to show up: He never arrived.
2. Ellipsis emphasize that there is more.
We ate apple bars with whipped cream, lemon bars with nuts, marshmallow bars, meltaway chocolate bars....
Improving your punctuation is fairly easy; remember the colon and the semicolon. When you read, notice the punctuation. See how you can add ellipsis, exclamation points, dashes, and more. Observe, learn and improve your writing.
Still, we don't want you to overwhelm your readers with punctuation. Thinking of punctuation as a piece of chocolate cake might help. One piece of chocolate cake may taste like heaven; two pieces may just be too much heaven. Using exclamation points, dashes, and ellipses too often may overwhelm your readers and begin to interfere with their reading of your writing.
How to Choose Performance Management Software
Performance management solutions are mainly aimed at medium to large companies that have to keep track of the performance of various lines of business and departmental functions. This might include, but is not limited to inventory tracking, sales performance, geographical tracking of actuals and a lot of other key metrics that keep the business performing well. The main aim is to provide a easy way for business managers and executives to keep track of how the business is faring at any given time. So there are various aspects to be looked into while you go about selecting performance management software.
The first thing to do is not to get confused by the lingo. You will read terms like Corporate Performance Management (CMP), Business Performance Management (BPM
) or Strategic Performance Management (SPM). In actuality, they are one and the same, and at the most they are only slightly varied. All of them aim to give you the necessary tools to track your organization. So when you are looking for a performance management solution, look for the capabilities that you would want the software to have. These can include everything that you have been doing manually so far and a lot of it depends on the kind of organization that you run.
For organizations selling products, you are measuring how much of each SKU is stored in inventory and how in-stock and turnover rates of specific SKU's are performing in comparison to each other. Any organization also needs to keep track of sales performance on many different levels, daily, weekly, monthly, or annually. For multi-national corporations
, every aspect of business comes in to play, including manufacturing efficiency, market mechanics, individual performance tracking and other things. The application that you purchase should allow you to track any type of data, such as these, rather than being dedicated only to one functional area. This also means the application needs to access unlimited disparate data sources in one interface. The application should be flexible enough to allow comparisons of any historical and current data, to slice and dice by various drivers, and include visualization features to permit the discovery of patterns or trends in the data.
Flexibility for date selection and date grouping are other features that should be supported in the software that you are evaluating. This means that the software should have to ability to easily expand and contract the timeline of any displayed data that is date based. For example, take daily and monthly sales numbers. By looking at a larger time frame you will be easily able to locate patterns, such as seasonal ones, if any exist. There should also geo-tagging features, whereby large companies with a national and/or global presence can keep track of their performances by area.
